Terms of Service
Last updated: 7 October 2026
Welcome to Webtik. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of our website and services. By subscribing to a Webtik plan or add-on, or by accessing our services, you agree to be bound by these Terms.
1. About Us

Our services are provided to businesses and organisations. By subscribing, you confirm that you are acting on behalf of a business, charity or other organisation, and not as a consumer.

In these Terms:
- "Plan" means the website subscription plan you have chosen, as described in Section 4.
- "Add-on" means an optional service added to a Plan, such as the On-site SEO Add-on described in Section 7.
- "Subscription" means your Plan together with any active Add-ons.
- "Start Date" means the date your first payment for a Plan or Add-on is taken.

- "Business Day" means Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays in England.
3. Service Overview

Depending on your Plan, your Subscription may include:
- Design and build of a website using the Platform Technology.
- Hosting via the Platform Technology provider.
- Ongoing technical support.
- Additional features such as CMS and blog functionality, content updates and search optimisation.
3.1 Website Platform Technology
"Platform Technology" refers to the supported website platform used to deliver our services. At present this includes Webflow and Shopify. Webtik may expand or change supported platforms in the future.

The following Plans are offered by Webtik. Each Plan includes the services listed below and is subject to these Terms. All prices exclude VAT.

Scope: Custom Plan services, pricing and any variation to these Terms are set out in a separate Statement of Work agreed between Webtik and you. Where the Statement of Work conflicts with these Terms, the Statement of Work takes precedence.
4.4 Legacy Plans
If you subscribed to a Plan that is no longer offered, such as the Advanced Plan, you will continue to receive the services included in that Plan at your agreed price, subject to these Terms. Legacy Plans cannot be newly selected, and if you move away from a Legacy Plan you will not be able to return to it.
4.5 General Notes (All Plans)
- Hosting is provided through the relevant Platform Technology and is subject to that provider's terms of service and fair use limits.
- "Unlimited" means reasonable use within the technical capacity of the Platform Technology.
- Services not included in your Plan may be quoted separately as Add-ons or one-off work.
- Webtik may update the features included in each Plan, provided existing clients are not materially disadvantaged.
5. Subscription and Payment
- A valid Subscription must be active before development work begins.
- Fees for your Plan and any Add-ons are billed monthly in advance on your Billing Date, using your chosen payment method.
- All prices exclude VAT unless otherwise stated. VAT is charged at the prevailing UK rate.
- Minimum Term: Each Plan and each Add-on has its own Minimum Term of 12 consecutive months from its Start Date.
- After its Minimum Term, a Plan or Add-on continues automatically on a rolling monthly basis until cancelled in line with Section 7.8 or Section 11.
- Early cancellation: If you end a Plan or Add-on before its Minimum Term is complete, the monthly fees for the remainder of that Minimum Term become due immediately.
- Failed payments: If a payment fails, we will notify you and retry. If payment is not received within 14 days of the due date, we may suspend your services. If payment is not received within 30 days of the due date, we may remove your website.
- Price changes: We may review our prices from time to time. Your price will not increase during a Minimum Term. We will give you at least 30 days' written notice of any price increase, and you may cancel before it takes effect without further charge, provided your Minimum Term is complete.
6. Plan Changes
You can upgrade your Plan at any time and downgrade once your Minimum Term is complete. All change requests must be made in writing to support@webtik.co.uk, and we will confirm the change and its effective date in writing.
6.1 Upgrades
- You may upgrade to a higher Plan at any time, including during your Minimum Term.
- The new monthly fee applies from your next Billing Date. If you would like work on new features to start sooner, we may charge the pro-rata difference for the rest of your current billing period.
- Upgrading does not restart your Minimum Term. Your Minimum Term continues to run from your original Start Date.
- We will agree a reasonable timeframe with you for delivering any new features included in your upgraded Plan.
- Upgrades to the Custom Plan are subject to a Statement of Work, which may set its own Minimum Term.
6.2 Downgrades
- You may downgrade to a lower Plan once your current Plan's Minimum Term is complete. Downgrades are not available during a Minimum Term.
- Downgrades require 30 days' written notice and take effect on the first Billing Date after the notice period ends.
- Your website must fit within the inclusions of the new Plan. Before the downgrade takes effect, we will tell you what needs to change, for example reducing the site to 5 pages or disabling blog and CMS functionality.
- We will carry out reasonable consolidation of your site as part of the downgrade. Substantial redesign or restructuring will be quoted separately before any work begins.
- Blog posts and CMS content can be exported on request before the downgrade takes effect. Content that is not exported may be permanently lost once features are disabled.
- Downgrading does not start a new Minimum Term.
6.3 Custom Plan Changes
Changes to a Custom Plan, including moving to or from a standard Plan, are agreed on a case-by-case basis and recorded in an updated Statement of Work.
6.4 Adding and Removing Add-ons
- You may add an Add-on to an active Plan at any time. Each Add-on has its own Minimum Term, starting from that Add-on's Start Date.
- Add-ons may be removed in line with the cancellation terms for that Add-on (see Section 7.8).
- Changing your Plan does not affect your Add-ons, provided the Add-on remains available on your new Plan.
7. On-site SEO Add-on
The On-site SEO Add-on costs £99 + VAT per month, has a 12-month Minimum Term, and is available alongside any active Webtik Plan.
7.1 Eligibility
The On-site SEO Add-on is only available while you hold an active Webtik Plan. It is not available as a standalone service.
7.2 What's Included
- Tracking of up to 100 keywords.
- On-page optimisation, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, internal linking and image alt text.
- Optimisation of existing location pages.
- Structured data (schema markup) to support rich results in search.
- Google Search Console monitoring, including indexing and coverage issues.
- A monthly report covering keyword rankings, search performance and website traffic.
7.3 What's Not Included
- Off-page SEO, including link building and outreach.
- New content or blog writing, beyond optimising existing copy.
- Creation of new pages. New location pages count towards your Plan's page allowance and, on the Essential Plan, may require an upgrade or a separate quote.
- Google Business Profile management.
- Paid search or advertising, such as Google Ads.
- Technical work outside the capabilities of the Platform Technology, or fixes to third-party scripts and integrations.
7.4 Keyword Tracking
Your tracked keywords are agreed with you during onboarding. You may request changes to the keyword set once per calendar month. Ranking history for keywords that are removed or replaced may not be retained.
7.5 Reporting
Your monthly report is sent by email within the first 10 Business Days of each month and covers the previous calendar month.
7.6 Your Responsibilities
- Grant Webtik access to Google Search Console and your analytics account. You remain the owner of these accounts.
- Provide accurate business information, such as addresses, opening hours and service areas, for use in structured data and location pages.
- Review and approve any changes to your website copy within a reasonable time. Delays in approval may delay optimisation work.
7.7 No Guaranteed Results
Search rankings are determined by search engines and are affected by factors outside our control, including algorithm updates and competitor activity. Webtik does not guarantee any specific ranking, position, traffic level or number of enquiries.
7.8 Minimum Term and Cancellation
- The On-site SEO Add-on has a Minimum Term of 12 months from its own Start Date, regardless of where your Plan is in its Minimum Term.
- After its Minimum Term, the Add-on continues on a rolling monthly basis and may be cancelled at any time with 30 days' written notice.
- Cancelling the Add-on does not affect your Plan.
- If your Plan ends for any reason, the Add-on ends at the same time. If the Add-on is still within its Minimum Term, the early cancellation terms in Section 5 apply.
7.9 After Cancellation
Optimisations and structured data already applied to your website remain in place. Keyword tracking and monthly reporting stop at the end of the final billing period. Copies of previous reports are available on request for 30 days after cancellation.
8. Ownership and Intellectual Property
Your Subscription is a fully managed website service. We handle the design, hosting, technical upkeep and support so you can focus on running your organisation.
- Content ownership: You retain full ownership of any content you provide, including text, images, branding and logos.
- Site management: While your Subscription is active, Webtik manages and hosts your website on your behalf. The underlying website structure, design and functionality remain under Webtik's control as part of the managed service. This does not affect your right to request a transfer under Section 8.1.
8.1 Website Transfer and Domain Ownership
Your domain is yours. Webtik will never register or hold a domain name on your behalf. Your domain remains your property at all times, regardless of your Subscription status.
Website transfer (after 24 months): Once you have held a continuous Subscription for at least 24 months, you may transfer your website into your own Platform Technology account for a one-off fee of £300 + VAT. Transfers for Custom Plans and Legacy Plans are quoted individually.
Website transfer is not available before 24 months of continuous Subscription. If you cancel before then, your website will be suspended and deleted in line with Section 11. Your domain and the content you provided remain yours.
The following conditions apply to all transfers:
- All fees must be paid in full, including any outstanding Minimum Term fees for Add-ons.
- You must have your own account with the Platform Technology provider, including any paid hosting or site plan it requires.
- On transfer, you receive the right to use your website's design and content. Webtik retains ownership of its reusable components, templates, code and processes.
- Licences held by Webtik for third-party fonts, apps, plugins or integrations do not transfer. You are responsible for obtaining your own licences.
To request a transfer, contact support@webtik.co.uk at least 30 days before your intended cancellation date. We will confirm what is involved before any work begins.
Once a transfer is completed, your Subscription ends and hosting, support, managed services and any Add-ons are no longer included.
9. Your Responsibilities
To help us deliver your services, you agree to:
- Provide content, feedback and approvals within a reasonable time. Delays on your side may delay delivery.
- Ensure the content you provide is accurate and that you have the right to use it.
- Give us the access we reasonably need, such as DNS settings for your domain, analytics and Google Search Console.
- Keep your contact and billing details up to date.
10. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use your website or our services for:
- Illegal, harmful or deceptive activities.
- Distributing spam, viruses or malware.
- Infringing copyright, trademarks or other intellectual property.
Webtik may suspend or terminate services in cases of misuse.
11. Cancellation
- You may cancel your Plan once its Minimum Term is complete. After that, your Plan continues on a rolling monthly basis and may be cancelled at any time with 30 days' written notice to support@webtik.co.uk.
- Your website remains active until the end of the billing period in which your notice period ends. It is then suspended, and suspended websites are permanently deleted after 30 days.
- If you cancel before completing 24 months of continuous Subscription, website transfer is not available. On request before your website is suspended, we will provide an export of the written content and images you supplied.
- If you are eligible for a transfer, you must request it before your website is suspended (see Section 8.1).
- Cancelling your Plan also cancels all Add-ons. Any Add-on still within its Minimum Term is subject to the early cancellation terms in Section 5.
- We do not offer refunds for previous billing periods.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Webtik is not liable for:
- Loss of profits, revenue, business or data.
- Downtime or disruption caused by Platform Technology providers or other third parties.
- Changes in search engine rankings, traffic or enquiries.
- Indirect, incidental or consequential loss.
Our total liability to you in any 12-month period is limited to the fees you paid to Webtik in that period.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be limited or excluded by law.
13. Use of Client Name and Logo
You grant us the right to use your organisation's name and logo to identify you as a client in our marketing materials, including our website, case studies, social media and presentations. This right is non-exclusive and may be withdrawn at any time by giving us written notice.
14. Changes to These Terms
Webtik may update these Terms from time to time. If we make significant changes, we will notify active subscribers by email at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use of our services after that date indicates acceptance of the updated Terms.
15. General
- These Terms, together with any Statement of Work, form the entire agreement between you and Webtik.
- If any part of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining parts continue in full effect.
- Hosting and platform services are also subject to the terms of the relevant Platform Technology provider.
- These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
16. Contact
